Alan J. Winters is a Minnesota writer, small‑engine craftsman, and lifelong storyteller whose work blends humor, heart, and the quiet endurance of small‑town life. Born and raised in Montevideo, and rooted deeply in Benson, Alan carries the spirit of rural Minnesota into everything he creates — from his poetry and reflections to his character‑driven fiction. After decades of repairing and restoring the machines that keep his community moving, Alan turned his hands toward the written word, building keepsake‑quality books that honor memory, devotion, and the beauty found in everyday moments. His writing is known for its warmth, wit, emotional clarity, and deep respect for the people and places that shaped him. Alan’s work spans humorous winter tales, intimate reflections, multi‑movement poetry cycles, and tributes that celebrate love, music, and the landscapes of his life. Whether he’s capturing the absurdity of a frozen Minnesota morning or the quiet courage of the human heart, Alan writes with authenticity, tenderness, and a craftsman’s devotion to detail. He continues to create from his home in Benson, where stories, engines, and memories all find their way back to the workbench.
