This play took a while to get going. I really could have lived with all the descriptions of tennis games. But it did get going. I enjoyed the diabolical Ian and how he schemed. I even found myself rooting for him a bit, not liking the way the “cooler people” seemed to exclude him. I can’t say this was well written. At times, it seemed to break rules of fiction and play writing. Although I have to admit, I don’t know a lot about the latter. Also, several of the characters seemed a little too oblivious about what was going on around them. I felt like I had to overlook that someone could be so dense. Still, I enjoyed parts of this play, laughing a few times. I found the ending surprising, and I enjoyed it. Overall, it’s an okay read that I wouldn’t take too seriously.
