I'm unsure about the storyline of the book but I like that it includes the word 'autism' in it as it can help start conversations about the topic with children when reading the book. It's a soft book that accentuates that we should be kind and empathetic so, as an early years teacher, I appreciate this part of it.
This book is about a princess with autism. She has special abilities, like empathy and imagination. It's a reminder for those who may have autism that they are able to do their own special things and that everyone is unique. Princess Belky had an issue with being able to express what she wanted to, but with some help, she was able to do that.
Belky's Magical Adventures A Princess with Autism is a beautifully written and illustrated book by Dijana that captures the essence of understanding and celebrating differences. Through the adventures of Princess Belky, children are introduced to the joys and challenges of being a princess with autism. Belky's unique perspective and imaginative problem-solving skills highlight the importance of resilience, compassion, and acceptance. Dijana's background as a mental health therapist shines through, making this book both educational and heartwarming. A must-read for families looking to foster empathy and understanding in their children.
This book had lovely illustrations.
