I was not sure what to make of this at first because the characters initially were not as fleshed out as I would have thought. But I enjoyed the tale of obsession that is as old as love itself. One thing that I found distracting was the constant dialogue in Italian that assumes the reader will get the meaning the more you read. I found it slowed the story down a bit. Overall, it's a good tale of love and its sometimes toxic byproduct, obsession.
This book kept me hooked from start to finish! The dark mafia storyline was intense, with just the right mix of romance, danger, and emotional twists. The author did a great job capturing the raw emotions, including anxiety and resilience, while still giving us moments of hope and connection. It's not your typical romance—it's gritty and gripping, but that's what makes it so memorable.
The tension keeps you hooked, and while the story dances on the edge of toxicity, it fully commits to its dark romance identity.
The author did a great job with this book. I was entertained from start to finish. 5 stars!!! Makes a great gift.
