This book is a fine introduction to insurance for young people who find themselves having to deal with a topic unfamiliar to them. It is well organized and includes stories to make it more interesting. Other than the fact that it didn’t go into detail regarding agents - some work for insurance companies while others are independent - it would be a good book for young adults. It had information about annuities and riders that although helpful, didn’t seem to fit as this was not a book about investments. Perhaps if that chapter was at the end after exhausting all types of insurance it would have made sense as an add on. But I found it confusing to find that chapter as part of a book on insurance. Young people would appreciate a book like this. It could fit well into a high school curriculum that prepares students about to go off on their own.

As a budding adult, I am learning that insurance is more important than ever now in days. I think the author did an amazing job with highlighting the importance of insurance and can't wait to read more books in the future.
David Okonah's book How to Make Insurance Work for You: Your Personal Finance Guide extensively covers more than just insurance. I gained a wealth of knowledge about the various types of insurance and which ones were more appropriate for specific individuals and situations. I learned about the multiple types of insurance, ranging from whole life to term, and how they can yield significant investments. The author talked extensively about Medicare and the difference between it and Medicaid. What is advanced Medicare, and what are the benefits of having both regular Medicare and advanced Medicare? We learned a lot about the alphabet of Medicare (A, B, D, F, and more). There were so many examples given that made it simple to understand. We learned everything we needed about insurance and its related topics, including beneficiaries, disability, supplemental insurance, and more. Everything was so well explained. Anyone seeking insurance knowledge should listen to this audiobook, even before making a decision. I recommend it.
