"Wizards of Wisdom, Book 1: The Shadow Dragons and the Jewels of Friendship" is a heart-warming children's tale that imparts valuable lessons on kindness, cooperation, and the power of friendship. The story features a wise grandmother who embodies the role of a great wizard, guiding characters to find their inner sunshine through love and understanding. This enchanting narrative not only entertains but also encourages young readers to embrace positive values in their interactions with others.
I absolutely adored this whimsical adventure that manages to be both funny and thoughtful! Willow and Thorn are such delightful protagonists - I particularly loved how Willow's impulsiveness plays off Thorn's cautious nature, especially in that hilarious scene where they're trying to sneak past the sleeping giant and Willow can't stop giggling at Thorn's extremely serious "tip-toe face." The art style is gorgeous too, with these vibrant watercolor-style illustrations that really bring the magical forest to life. That double-page spread of the shadow dragons swooping through the purple twilight sky literally made me gasp out loud. What really sets this book apart is how it weaves mindfulness concepts into the adventure without ever feeling preachy. When Grandma teaches the kids her "weird" breathing exercises, it seems kind of random at first - but then watching them actually use these techniques to calm down when facing the shadow dragons adds such a powerful layer to the story. I found myself getting genuinely emotional during the scene where Willow and Thorn realize that the true "jewels of friendship" were the lessons they learned about supporting each other along the way.
A great message in this story, on how to get along with others and be loving and kind to help find your sunshine. Grandma is the great wizard full of wisdom. What an incredible journey in the woods, making new friends and building upon friendships. Great children fantasy book.
The children's book sets out teaching children about responsibility, cooperation, kindness, gratitude, and reward through effort. The overly theme is about 'stillness' - the path towards light and love through listening and understanding. The first impression is how lively and colorful the illustrations are. The story moves along at a good pace, with messages inerspersed throughout yet not coming across preachy. I enjoyed reading this book to my young daughter - she loves the forest creatures who popped up throughout the book.
This book swept my kid into a world of spellbinding magic, courageous young wizards, and, of course, shadow dragons! From the very first page, my daughter was hooked by the story's fast-paced action and intriguing plot twists. The characters are well-developed. I also appreciated the book's message about teamwork and the importance of trusting others
The illustrations in this magical quest for kids is enchanting and beautifully done. The mystical storytelling is packed with ideal life lessons for children to learn from, however it does get a bit wordy and may lose some children's focus. A good bedtime story to read with cute animals!
Wizards of Wisdom The Shadow Dragons and the Jewels of Friendship is a heartwarming and enchanting adventure perfect for kids. My children loved following Willow and Thorn on their quest, where they learned about friendship, kindness, and bravery. The story is beautifully written, with fun characters like Lolly the love bug and Bramble the bear cub teaching important life lessons. The themes of mindfulness and overcoming fears are woven into the adventure, making it both entertaining and meaningful.
This Journal has a brilliant explanation about what your dreams may mean as a guide to help you write down your dreams before you forget them. It's a great journal to reflect back to your dreams and what they actually mean.
I loved reading this book! It teaches patience and understanding, and I am going to recommend it to all my friends who have kids.
The illustrations in this book are vivid and engaging. I like the idea of teaching children stillness and gratitude. I thought the book may have been a bit long and drawn out given the likely audience. Still, is a pretty good book for an early reader.
Read this to my son and he loved all the characters and storyline. Great find.
