A complex story blending myth, archaeology, and strong characters. The book is a very fast paced story, perhaps too fast paced. I found that I wanted to know more about the characters, the villains, as well as how the heroes traveled to so many different places. The primary characters are interesting and relatable, the story is compelling. I think that it could have been two books, as the plot is complex with many venues and lots of action. The ending leaves you wondering what else may be coming. It is an enjoyable, quick read that I recommend for a rainy afternoon.
I very much enjoyed the fast paced thrill of this adventure, teaching me a bit about ancient legend and letting my imagination run wild with the space between the words. Like most young adventures, it has its flaws in the fine art of storytelling but is well worded, emotional and gripping for what it is.
