At only 19 pages, the author is stretching my interest in the superheroes I grew up with and their impact on the chaotic world surrounding me. Admittedly, I enjoyed those first Superman, Batman, et al, comic books. Also attending those wonderful Saturday matinee serials at a local theater and the more recent multi-million dollar superhero motion pictures. At 82, I’m an easy sell for the impact of these fictional superheroes on our psyche. Intellectually written with lots of passion. I look ahead to a full length version instead of an abbreviated article with promises of tidbits to come. Only three stars due to its excessive pricing (19 pages?). If it were longer and more “fleshed out,” I would have given it a four or possibly five stars.
The book is very short (consist of only three chapters), but it has an interesting perspective. It discusses the real message behind the characters like Superman, Wonder Women, and Batman. I hadn't thought about them like this before!
