A House to Die For is a fast-paced, high-stakes thriller that proves even in the glittering luxury of Las Vegas, danger can lurk behind the most beautiful doors.
Wes Davis weaves glitzy real estate money and glamour with a crime drama that grips you fast. It's set in the luxurious world of Las Vegas megamansions, and kicks off with the discovery of a double murder at a Broker’s Open House. the pace from then-on is fast. The cast of characters is well-written and felt to me like a good quality TV drama you can't stop watching. The real estate mogul with a complicated past and his devious ex-wife with a dark agenda, combine with a whole host of schemers and hustlers thirsty for power and wealth. What makes this book a treat is how well Davis portrays the behind the scenes chaos of top end real estate transactions. Intense politics and battles over commissions inevitably evolve into fraud, betrayal, and even attempted murder is not off the table. Dialogue is snappy, cutting, and quite often very funny. If you like a combination of real estate drama with a twist of murder and revenge revenge, you will like this book.
