This was a surprisingly refreshing take on productivity although on the other hand I like to vegetate during my downtime. Nevertheless, the book flipped my perspective on what it means to be productive by showing how essential downtime is for success. The author’s approach is both insightful and relaxing, making it clear that taking breaks isn’t just okay—it’s necessary. It felt like permission to slow down without feeling guilty, with practical tips on how to use that downtime effectively. I walked away with a new appreciation for balance and how strategic idleness can actually boost my performance in the long run.
I enjoyed this book. Its simple, laidback approach made it enjoyable and easy to read. The main message is that slowing down and taking breaks isn’t just okay—it’s actually necessary. If you’ve ever felt burned out from trying to do too much, this book gives you permission to take a step back and rethink how you approach your day-to-day life. How wonderful is that!
The concept here is really good. I know, because I use a few of the methods discussed. Take breaks if very helpful. Research supports that, which the author points out. Overall, this book will be helpful to most people. It's a bit too redundant, I thought. Otherwise, it's a pretty good self-help book.
