This was a fun read! I liked that it didn't drag out the love story like other books do. It was very descriptive and you could almost picture being there on the beach. This is a very sweet little short story. Thoroughly enjoyed it!
I couldn’t put this book down! The story pulls you right into the sun-drenched beaches of Hawaii, where a team of scientists uncovers more than just ancient artifacts. Professor Erhart's leadership is compelling, and the layers of family dynamics and hidden emotions add tension to every chapter. Emily’s trip to the mainland stirs up unresolved feelings with her ex, while Laety’s quiet admiration for Liam simmers just beneath the surface. This story captures the pull between past and present, history and personal discovery, making it a truly captivating read.
I love short stories. But this one is more like a longer work posing as a short story. A few times, it's like there was buildup and I wondered what would happen and then it would happen and be over fast. Even the climax of the story was brief and undescriptive. Otherwise, the writing is okay. It's just not the type of tale that works in this short of a format.
