I was completely gripped by the mental images the author painted—it felt amazing, until things took a darker turn. The storyline had me on edge, and while I don't begrudge the little girl's strong spirit, I'm relieved it ended happily. I’m against all predators and serial killers, so this was a satisfying conclusion. The twist of his next prey surprising him was brilliant!
A captivating short story about what or who made the evil within a killer and what if they choose the wrong victim. I like the way Joshua Scribner weaves a short story leaving the reader wondering even after the words end. A great story to read aloud beside a campfire or teenage sleepover.
