The author does an excellent job of presenting well-researched information in an easy to understand format. I particularly found the reflection section at the end of chapter extremely beneficial.

The book stands out for its structured 35-step approach, offering accessible tools like mindfulness exercises, cognitive reframing, and self-compassion practices. Real-life examples and clear explanations make the strategies relatable and actionable. A highlight is its balance between science-backed methods and a compassionate tone, ensuring readers feel supported throughout their journey. However, while the book excels in breadth, it occasionally feels repetitive, particularly in sections reiterating concepts. There's a quote that came across my radar that I tend to fall back about the past, future, and present which equals to depression, anxiety, and peace. As an over-thinker, it's easy to slip back into the past and think about the what ifs while also fearing the unknown. It's hard to live in the calm. This is a good read for all the over-thinkers out there that helps give you the tools to break free of those chains weighing you down. And when you tend to fall back in your old ways, this is a good book to keep on hand to remind you how to let go and just be free.
I like how the author talks about moving despite your circumstances. Some people have to go to counseling or self heal. Some people have a bad marriage or relationship. Or even an abusive household. Good advice on healing.
Although this book is a well organized guide to help one not overthink and includes many handy exercises, I found it more of a review of what I already knew rather than an enlightening book that would teach me something I hadn't considered or didn't know to do. The value of this book depends on how much the reader has already read on this topic. For many it would be a good starter book as it is thorough. I have read a lot on this topic and found it more of a reminder book - which does have value - rather than an opportunity to learn new ideas. I did find this author's use of thinking of what you do as your legacy a unique thought - a new thought for me.

I love the part on overthinking! I am over thinker so the constant rehashing of thoughts stresses me out big time! I also really enjoyed reading Chapter 4 about reframing negative thoughts. It is so true that once you start replacing negative thoughts with positive ones, then good things WILL happen. The author has such great techniques for thought reframing, like the 3 c’s - catch it, check it and change it. This book has so much great into that will help anyone who reads it in some way, shape or form.
This book was packed full of great information and I felt like it really helped me regain control of my life. Thank YOU!!!!
This is a book I'll revisit, as it provides practical tools to help identify anxiety triggers and turn them into something productive, as well as lifestyle changes to help mitigate stress and that hamster-wheel of overthinking. I think what I appreciated most about The Art of Letting Go was the explanation of how and why anxiety builds into the monster in our minds that so many of us suffer from. In so doing, it not only demystifies anxiety, it also takes away so much of its power because you realize that this issue is extremely common and totally surmountable. It may be silly to admit to, but I also liked the inspirational quotes. Willie Nelson's was my favorite!
This book really helped me to relax and remember the basics of LETTING GO OF things that don't serve me.

The reason I’m giving this book 4 stars instead of 5 is that while the steps are helpful, some of the techniques felt repetitive at times. However, this might be a bonus for those looking for reinforcement and repetition as part of their learning process. Overall, The Art of Letting Go is a solid resource for anyone looking to regain control over their thoughts, reduce anxiety, and cultivate inner peace. My wife is a worrier, and I’m someone who replays every conversation. Together, we both dwell way too much on the past. BUT WE NEEDED THIS BOOK TO GIVE US THE PERMISSION TO PUT AN END TO IT! Sometimes it takes a third party to tell you what you need to hear and to get you going. Thanks to the tips and exercises in this book, we’re going to live longer and happier. We started a couple of days ago doing some walking and deep breathing and I feel calmer already.
