This novel caught my attention quickly with its action and the plot swiftness — the high-stakes adventure able to take hold from the beginning. Plot twists occur with each page turn in this the Cursed Sea where the Bowler create a character and a world that fit her well. This nautical adventure is captained by Selene Greystorm and her sworn enemy Darian Thorne. Their dynamics create much tension, intrigue, betrayal, and showcase a fragile alliance that otherwise would not be possible if it was not for their unique characteristics against allies only creatable from the mind of Bowler who knows well how to craft a tale of dark fantasy and high magic that’s a real page turner.

I bought this book as my first in mermaid fantasy and adventure. It took me some time to catch up with the pace, but once it did, Captain Selen's Quest for Revenge kept me on the edge all the way. This fast-paced, action-packed adventure filled with dark magic, betrayal, high-stakes alliances, monsters, and more kept me engrossed. I loved it all.

This book surprised me. It’s about Captain Selene, who's out for revenge but ends up working with her worst enemy, Darian. What grabbed me the most was how high the stakes were, it's not just about pirates; there's magic, deadly monsters, and some serious betrayals. I found myself rooting for the characters even though they’re all walking on the edge. The whole thing felt like a non-stop adventure, especially when they had to deal with the Siren Queen and this creepy group called the Red Hand. If you're into sea adventures with a dark twist, you need to read this one.
