I don't usually gravitate toward books like When Darksome Falls, but this one completely grabbed my attention. From the very beginning, I found myself completely drawn into the main character's internal struggle. Her journey of self-discovery was so real and personal—it truly resonated with me in a way I didn't expect. The romance between her and Danielson Cain was electric and intense, keeping me on the edge of my seat throughout. M.C. Ryder is a master at building suspense; there were moments when I thought I had everything figured out, only to be caught off guard by a twist I didn’t see coming. This book offers a little bit of everything—mystery, action, romance, cowboys, horses, and even a touch of fantasy—making it the perfect escape. It was especially powerful in its portrayal of women finding their strength, and also tackling the theme of toxic relationships. If you're looking for a page-turner that’s not only captivating but thought-provoking, I highly recommend When Darksome Falls. In my opinion, it’s the best book yet in The Dark series! Another incredible read from M.C. Ryder that had me hooked from start to finish.
