Equal parts fierce and flirty, Chasing Headlines captures the messy beauty of chasing your dreams—even when it means rewriting the rules.
Chasing Headlines pulled me in from the very first page. Liv and Breslin are full of depth and allow for the story to be both real and riveting. For a brief moment, I wanted to scream at Breslin, but, that just added to the story. This story does a nice job of blending tension, heart, and a lot of baseball into a well written story.
This one surprised me in a good way. The characters felt real, with messy lives and complicated feelings, and the relationship didn’t feel forced or too fast. There’s some good back-and-forth between them that made me smile, and the tension felt believable. It did start to feel a bit drawn out at one point, like it could’ve wrapped up a little sooner—but then the ending came quicker than I expected. I would’ve liked a bit more time with the two of them after everything. Still, I enjoyed it overall. Definitely a solid weekend read.
Very funny! I laughed out loud following along with Liv and Coop. Liv's pov was my favorite. Her wry wit and self deprecating, impulsive chatter was incredibly likeable. It took me longer to warm up to Breslin Cooper, but in the end i liked it better for that journey. I got to unwrap him and his personality in the same time frame as Liv, which made for an immersive reading experience.
