I'd read another of Josh's flash fiction pieces and really enjoyed it, so I tried this one out. It has his signature otherworldly twist, which is quite enjoyable. This one felt like part of a bigger story, though, or at least a bigger universe. At first I was bummed I didn't have more explanation, but that caused me to read it over again more carefully. It leaves the reader in a purposeful and satisfying sense of unease.
Reminded me of Stephen King short story. It is so short that leaving any details would be a bit of a spoiler, but I can say it was an interesting psychological thriller. At the beginning I imagined this was taking place in a therapists office, but the twist at the end was a surprise that pulled the rug out from under the story, I will have to give it another read.
THIS WAS AN VERY GOOD STORY FORM START TO FINISH. I LIKED THE ENDING. GREAT WORK
