Not sure how I feel about this short-story. There was so many incidents wrapped up into a few pages. I think I would have enjoyed this more if I had a little more depth. I had a difficult time following the time line. Did all these women die in a short span? Over a decade. I think, with a few more pages, I could have followed this short story a little better. However, I always enjoy this author's work and the twists he likes to put...everywhere!
The protagonist of this short story has a series of relationships with women who, at first glance, end up committing suicide. The story ends with an ambiguous message from the last woman, his wife of 20 years, which you can interpret however you want. To me, the story lacked the sense of place and the depth of mystery that would have made it perfect. 3 stars for an interesting premise.
