Coming from a mom with two under two, Kayla Rabbich's "Mess-Free, Guilt-Free, Planet-Friendly Parenting" made me laugh out loud while folding laundry at midnight because she GETS IT. Between diaper explosions and toddler tantrums, who has time for complicated eco-friendly solutions? Rabbich offers simple DIY recipes and sustainability hacks that don't require Pinterest-perfect execution or hours I don't have. Her "progress over perfection" message was exactly what any parent needs to hear when using disposable wipes one day and homemade ones the next. The baby food chapter alone would provide some good hacks to save time and money. I genuinely appreciate how she acknowledges that some days you're an eco-warrior and other days you're just trying to survive—without an ounce of judgment. Reading this book felt like chatting with a funny, wise friend who doesn't bat an eye when there's spit-up on your shirt.
This book is loaded with great advice. It can help you keep your child away from toxins in shelf-bought products. It's very ecofriendly, and you might save money reading it. The content is great. The quality of delivery is really a matter of the reader's taste. The author likes sarcastic humor. Me too. But there's probably a bit too much in here. I felt like I'd get one or two pieces of good advice, and then another joke. At some point, I just want the jokes to stop so I can focus on getting the needed content. Still, that needed content was supplied, so if the joke overkill doesn't bother you, I'd recommend this book.
