An enjoyable murder mystery, complex and detailed, with numerous twists and turns. The heroine, Debra Ann, resigning from a job as a journalist takes up an investigation that had occupied her recently deceased father. He had been examining a series of letters blown towards his wife’s grave from another part of the cemetery which described a murder. The letters are written in invisible ink. The complexities of the story increase with Debra Ann placed repeatedly in jeopardy: a truck ramming her taxi; a knife placed at her throat. The number of corpses mounts. The story is perhaps overly long for those who like their mysteries short and snappy, but it kept my interest and attention from beginning to end.
A wild, layered ride from start to finish. Just when you think you've figured it out, something new comes to light and shifts everything. The main character is bold and relentless, which makes for some truly intense moments. There’s a lot going on beneath the surface, and it all ties together in ways you don’t see coming. Gritty, emotional, and full of surprises.
