This micro fiction (just 9 pages) packs a lot into just a few pages. The story flows well and definitely has a case of the dark and twisties. They only thing that I didn't like is that it felt like it you were dropped into the middle of a story. If you are up for some suspense. Check this one out.
A fascinating, sharply written quick read that will stick with you.
If you like good, clean, wholesome fun...keep scrolling! I you like 'em dark and twisted, with a whole lot demented...you have found your writer. Would love to see this expanded, but either way, it will be stuck in my head for a while!
This is one of the author's most startling works. Last night was an intense short read. I found the premise of the book terrifying, but, as with many short reads, the story runs out of time to fully develop the plot. There is much more that could be added to the story, but not enough runway for a successful flight. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed the read and would recommend this book. Just don’t read it before bed.
A well-written, well developed, and high paced flash fiction story by Joshua Scribner. Highly disturbing and full of mystery, so mission accomplished as this is what the book is supposed to be. Well worth reading if you are into this type of fiction!
A beautifully written piece that lingers in the mind long after reading. There’s a quiet power in the way the story unfolds, subtle, emotional, and deeply human. It’s one of those reads that says so much with so little, leaving you reflective without being heavy-handed. Short, but it stays with you.
This is a short story that felt like I started reading part way into a book, a true beginning was missing. Also it abruptly ended but in my opinion really had no ending .
I enjoyed this tale, which kept me turning the pages until I read the whole thing in one sitting. The main protagonist, Eryn, is strong-willed and a survivor who resists the invasion of an energy-based lifeform called Sylith. I won’t give away too much of it, but I look forward to the next release in this tale to see how she fares in her new reality. I would have loved a little more backstory at the beginning of the invasion, but still found this a good story.
A tense premise and a chilling hook can’t save Last Night from its thin characters and rushed ending. Nurse Brit’s descent into nightmare is vividly written, but Dr. Genevia and Marty/Carl feel like afterthoughts, and the climax arrives without enough buildup. If you’re looking for deep scares or solid character arcs, this one won’t satisfy. Alos poorly formatted
