An emotional memoir of an impoverished young man’s determination and faith to find a better life. Also, a tribute to Ketter’s closely knit family and friends who gave him the courage to succeed through the harshest of times. As a victim of PTSD, I found this memoir to be an uplifting read. Some parts are unsettling, but necessary to experience the pain of war on its innocent victims. The harsh scenes of the author’s war-torn Liberian homeland are vividly described. The memoir’s well-placed photographs give depth to the story. Given the author’s meticulous journaling, I would have also liked some timely dialogue interspersed in the memoir to increase its impact. In my opinion, it’s a powerful story worth reading in our turbulent world. Well-written, sending a clear message of hope and love. With some work, it could be converted into a screenplay and perhaps a powerful motion picture.
The Unbreakable Human Spirit of Resilience is a deeply moving and inspiring memoir that captures the incredible journey of Ericboy from the war-torn streets of Liberia to a fulfilling life in America. This book is not just a story of survival, but a powerful reminder of the strength of the human spirit. Ericboy’s resilience in the face of unimaginable challenges is both humbling and motivating. His transformation from a boy facing war and socio-economic hardships to a successful mental health counselor is a testament to the power of perseverance and hope. This book is a must-read for anyone seeking inspiration and proof that adversity can be the foundation for a life of purpose and impact.
