I normally wouldn't finish a book with writing as bad as this one. There is very little character development. It reads more like historical nonfiction. The narrator moved between brief immersions into the character perspectives and omnipresent narration. This is the type of thing a good editor (and I don't mean proofreader) will point out. Had the author spent more time in the minds of his characters this could have been an amazing book. The concepts are brilliant. There is talent here. Overall, I can't recommend this book. But if the author becomes more versed in the art of writing fiction, then I'd love to read this person's future work.
