The sections on managing distractions, mastering single-tasking, and setting goals that align with my values were especially helpful. For the first time in a long time, I feel like I have a real strategy for getting things done without burning myself out. I found this book quite thorough. Ir covered almost every aspect of being able to focus on one's task in great detail, with helpful suggestions. Much of it, like getting enough sleep or avoiding caffeine, is the kind of stuff we know but don't always observe. And most of us have heard a lot of what is in this book over the years, but hearing it as organized as it was added motivation to work on focus. I had not thought about mindfulness and meditation as acts that would enhance focus, so I did learn something new. After reading this book one cannot help but focus on focus.
It’s packed with practical tips that really help you stay on track and tackle distractions. I appreciate the emphasis on taking breaks and single-tasking. The key takeaways and reflective questions are a nice touch and super useful. Plus, you can hop around to the sections that resonate with you and read it in any order, which makes it really flexible.
