
This is a wonderful introductory guide about detoxing the body to refresh physical health and mental clarity, herbal detox for mood and well-being, digital detox for mental health and breathwork for stress relief. I was delighted to see recipes included in the juice detox chapter and in the detox bath chapter. If the author does a future edition of this book, I would love to see a recipe section at the back, listing the optimal ratios for each ingredient recommended. I really liked the advice to add ashwagandha to smoothies! What a great way to get this powerful adaptogen into the diet without having to deal with capsules. I thought the commentary about a digital detox to help battle emotional fatigue was perhaps the most valuable and timely. I will definitely start practicing the steps recommended to reduce my screen time and make the most of tech-free hours for enhanced mental clarity. I really enjoyed reading this book and highly recommend it - especially to those who are new to this concept and ready to test the waters with easy to follow detox strategies.
Nourish to Flourish is very straightforward in its approach. The text is easy to understand and explains many aspects of the author's ideas about the benefits of juicing as well as different methods of detox. All are told in clear language. If you are looking for recipes for juicing or making smoothies, this is not the book. The only recipes are for detox baths. Which I found very helpful. It would be helpful to have a few examples of how to juice, but anyone who has a juicer can use this book to increase their knowledge of herbs and vegetables to add. A word of caution, some of the herbs listed can react with medications. Please check with your doctor to see about using herbs and supplements if you are on medication. That being said, this is a great book. Chock-full of information for anyone who is thinking about improving their health.
Not a bad read, but this title provides basic information only, and is definitely not comprehensive or transformative as the description suggests. Includes chapters on juice cleansing (strangely without any actual recipes), advice on herbal detox, yoga and meditation etc., but nothing you can't find online in a few good articles for free.
The writing in this book is very clear. It's a nice, quick read. I think some of these methods might be worth trying on for size. But the scientific support is not always there. So, approach these methods carefully. I'd research each method further before trying it. If you are unable to do the research, consult your doctor first. That done, I'd say try them out and see if they work for you.
