This well-written book is uplifting and offers practical tips and suggestions for anyone looking to change their mindset. It encourages a more positive outlook on various aspects of life and promotes thoughtful responses to others in a positive way. A good resource for all age groups
This book has a gentle tone and heartfelt intent, but it’s far too simplistic. It repeats the same advice—affirmations, journaling, nature—without depth or nuance. There’s no guidance for when affirmations feel false, or when negative self-talk is tied to deeper wounds. It says “for all ages,” but the tools are too generic. Better as a starting point for young readers than a serious resource.
I like the concept of the book and there are many positive tips in there, but I agree with other people that it is redundant and not laid out well. It seems the author ran out of things to say, so it was just put in a different way. It would have been better, if the book was shorter and non-redundant.
Crentsil writes in an accessible and relatable style, making the concepts easy to understand and apply. The practical examples and exercises provided throughout the book encourage readers to reflect on their own habits and experiment with incorporating more positive language into their daily lives.
This is a beautifully written and uplifting book that serves as a gentle reminder of the influence our words have on ourselves and others. Danielle's thoughtful insights and practical advice inspire readers to choose positivity in their daily interactions. Highly recommend for personal growth or as a thoughtful gift!
This book the power of positive words shows us how positive words can cultivate a positive environment, overcome negative self-talk, and inspire others. I strongly recommend it.
I found this book disappointing compared to other works from this author. While its therapeutic offerings are good, the author never takes us deeply enough into them, but merely repeats them in various contexts throughout the book without including helpful “real-world exercises”. Instead, her solutions come across too shallow to motivate this reader. On a positive note, I liked the concept of using our inner dialogue to redirect negative thoughts to positive ones, even to the point of expressing these positive thoughts verbally. Also, using the same technique for addressing these negative thoughts through self-questioning. I’m giving it a generous 4 rating because I know this author can do better.
This book is great for anyone looking to improve their mindset and emotional well-being. It offers practical tips and relatable examples to help shift negative self-talk into empowering and uplifting thoughts. What I love most is how it’s suitable for all ages, making it perfect for personal growth or as a resource to inspire others, like family or students. The exercises are simple yet powerful, and I noticed a positive change in how I speak to myself after just a few chapters. However, there seemed to be a lot of repetition focusing on art and journaling. It would have been nice to have sample affirmations to help individuals engage with the process. Overall a wonderful book for understanding positive affirmations.
Words are just words... wrong! Words have the power to bring you up or take you down. The world we live in is filled with so much pessimism and it's easy to drown in the negativity. Break the mindset by learning what you can do to take back your power. Have self-talks. Embrace nature. When you start believing in the positive words you tell yourself, you will start embracing the power in those self-talks.
This book is packed with helpful tips on how words can shape your mindset. It breaks down the power of words, focusing on small shifts in how we speak. I especially liked how it addresses overcoming negative self-talk.

This book has good advice in it. Words are powerful and the use of things like affirmations can have a very positive effect. But there is an extreme level of redundancy. The author says the same thing in a slightly different context over and over. The book would be better if it had more actionable steps instead of repeating itself. But the advice it gives is good. Still, I wouldn't recommend it.
