Shadows of Elder Grove is more than a fantasy about an enchanted forest and a haunting specter—it is a meditation on courage, community, and the healing power of shared stories. With its blend of magical atmosphere, heartfelt characters, and timeless themes, it resonates on both an emotional and philosophical level. This is a book that reminds us that even in the darkest of times, love and unity can light the way.
I was pleasantly surprised by the book. The concept is really good. I was fascinated with the author's treatment of memory like it was something that could be bought and stolen. The characters were well developed, with unique personalities. The world building was strong. There were a few times, especially at the start, where I wished the writer was showing more, instead of telling, but this minimal. Overall, I think this book will appeal mostly to an adolescent audience, but adults will likely enjoy it too.
