This little book tries to teach breathing and mediation to the younger kids, and I think it is successful by calling it "Dragon Breathe" and using rhyme. The Picture are too repetitive, and I reduce one star because of it.
Second book in the series I have read, and while consistent, I still feel these are aimed at too young an audience. As before, the artwork is cute and interesting, and the alliterative poetry is quite good, I just think the language and the message of meditative breathing will be lost on such a yound age group, even if read by an adult.
Children will love the colourful dragon images. A lovely way to learn a calming yoga breath.
This fun rhyming story with great illustrations teaches little ones breathing techniques that make excellent coping strategies when they feel upset or frustrated. Kids will enjoy this book while also learning calming exercises.
What a great book! Loved all of the illustrations, but more importantly, the message of taking the time to breathe! Sometimes the little ones struggle to understand the importance of pausing and taking a deep breath. The author does a great job by having the reader breathe along with the character in the book. Super cute.
I bought 3 different books (similar in teaching) from this author, and this is my kids' favorite. Maybe because it has to do with dragons. XD Like the others we purchased, these books are all about teaching kids mindful meditation and breathing techniques. And this one does it in a unique way that allows my kids to be interested in deep breathing, likely imagining themselves as a dragon while learning useful breathing techniques. Like the other books, this has rhyming lines on each page, nice illustrations, and a 6-step summary on the final two pages that shows the breathing technique in a more quick and concise how-to style way. Great book.
I really like this book. The illustrations are cute and I love the concept of the story. Through Nikko, kids can learn how to manage their big emotions and be calmer. I think this is a great story for toddlers to have in their library collection.
